President’s Letter

A message from our President and Co-Founder…

Danny Rosin - Band Together President

Thank you for your interest in Band Together NC, making the Triangle a better place to live, and for giving us a passion to champion our cause.

Ten years ago, Band Together was just a vision. But positive outcomes can result from tragic events, and that’s where our story begins. In the wake of September 11, 2001, a strong network of entrepreneurial friends decided to rise up and take action to make a difference in the world.

Together, we formed Band Together and backed it with a mission to raise funds for select Triangle nonprofits through events that showcase and support musical talent.

Since then, we’ve matured into a fully recognized 501(c)(3) run entirely by volunteers. To date, we have donated $1,478,000 to 12 deserving nonprofits with the help of an incredible, giving Triangle community! And while the dollar figure is large, it is the number of people in the Triangle who we have helped that truly matters.

It took a tragic event to ignite this entity called “Band Together” – and from that moment on, we have taken advantage of this privilege to be the responsible change agents for our local community. And we continue to do what we do in a very social and fun way.

In 2011, we hit some high notes. We created Last Band Standing, an event that supports local musicians and builds excitement around our main event. We built more innovation around our main event with LED displays, a custom light show, Twitter fountains, text to donate functionality and more. We introduced a 14-track NC based CD compilation with Mended Heart Records. And we grew our Advisory Board to give us counsel and help raise the BT bar even higher. Most importantly, we held our most successful event to date, with more than 5,500 attendees and a donation exceeding $478,000!

We hope you will join us for the exciting ride as we continue to positively impact the Triangle using the powerful vehicle of music.
