Band Together is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that uses live music as a platform for social change. Band Together typically has one large scale event on a Saturday in late spring. In addition, Band Together has monthly socials, often with live music and a Last Band Standing event where local bands battle it out for a purse of approx. $4,000 (cash and prizes) where the winner gets a spot to play on the stage at our main annual event.
Band Together is comprised of 100% volunteer-driven efforts. Volunteers work together to make a difference, using their professions, their energy, and the powerful medium of music to bring people together for causes larger than themselves. Band Together has provided its unique style of philanthropic support to The Music Maker Relief Foundation, SAFEchild, The Big Brother Big Sister Programs, Boys and Girls Clubs, Stop Hunger Now, Special Olympics, Operation Smile International, The Lucy Daniels Center, The Food Bank, StepUP Ministry, Alliance Medical Ministry, Urban Ministries of Wake County, Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities and the victim’s families of the September 11th terrorist attacks. In total, Band Together has raised nearly $3 million to benefit the Triangle community since its 2001 inception.
Band Together has a history of giving local up-and-coming talent an opportunity to showcase their music to a broader audience alongside national and international acts. Bands are usually reviewed several months prior to the event. Talent is chosen on the basis of the following criteria:
- Complement to headliner
- Reach: local, regional, national, international demographics/target market
- What does talent bring to make a joint-venture with BT a success?
- Can Band Together help support and impact talent with reach and headline affiliation?
- Expense.

If you would like to present your band for consideration for a Social or our springtime main event, please email Jim Graves and Danny Rosin.
