Will Lead Effort to Raise $500,000 for Alliance Medical Ministry

RALEIGH, N.C. (Dec. 13, 2010) –
Band Together NC, has announced that Carol Wagoner, SPHR, Eileen Hendren and Blaine Smith will serve as event co-chairs for 2011. Wagoner, Hendren and Smith will lead fundraising and public awareness efforts on behalf of Alliance Medical Ministry, Band Together’s charity partner for 2011.

Band Together NC Names Trey Caudle to Board of Directors

Long-Time Volunteer and Former Event Co-Chair Joins Board

Raleigh, N.C. (Aug. 23, 2010) — Band Together NC has announced that Trey Caudle has been appointed to its Board of Directors. Caudle is a client executive in the property and casualty division of Trisure. He is a Raleigh native with degrees in both business management and economics from N.C. State University. In his almost seven years of volunteering for Band Together, Caudle has helped set up charity concerts, served on the Steering Committee, and most recently served as event co-chair for this year’s charity concert, Band Together’s most successful venture to date.

Band Together NC Raises More than $358,000 for StepUP Ministry

More than $1 Million Donated to Local Charities in 10 Years

Raleigh, N.C., (May 25, 2010) - As international recording artist Michael Franti surveyed the crowd outside Lincoln Theatre in downtown Raleigh on May 22, he knew the rain wouldn’t dampen the spirits of the 2,500 concertgoers who came out to hear great music and support StepUP Ministry. “As long as you’re here, we’ll keep playing,” Franti said to raucous applause. The concert event was the signature fundraiser for Band Together NC and helped raise more than $358,000 for StepUP Ministry, an interfaith nonprofit organization that teaches low-income and homeless people to become self-sufficient. With matching funds secured by StepUP, the total amount far surpassed the $141,000 that Band Together raised for The Lucy Daniels Center in 2009.

Superheroes come in all shapes and sizes. Some don capes and battle evil-doers, while others work tirelessly for the betterment of their communities. Danny Rosin, president and co-founder of Band Together NC, was honored by Marbles Kids Museum with one of its inaugural Superhero for Kids Awards on June 5 at a special Marbles Superheroes Ball fundraising gala benefitting the museum’s Imagination Fund.

Music Lineup Announced for May 22 Charity Concert

Franti, One eskimO, The Old Ceremony, Holy Ghost Tent Revival and Anoop Desai to Perform

Raleigh, N.C., (May 4, 2010) — Anticipation is very high for this year’s show headlined by Michael Franti & Spearhead. Through a career spanning nearly 25 years, Franti has incorporated diverse musical influences such as reggae, hip hop, funk, jazz, folk and rock into his music. The band’s song “Say Hey (I Love You)” was a hit and has exceeded 5 million views on YouTube. Supporting acts include One eskimO and The Old Ceremony, with a late-night after-show party inside Lincoln Theatre with Holy Ghost Tent Revival. “American Idol” finalist Anoop Desai will appear inside Lincoln Theatre to perform songs from his new album “All is Fair.”

Raleigh, N.C. (Apr. 8, 2010) — As of January 2010, Wake County’s unemployment rate was 9.2 percent, meaning one in 11 employable adults was out of work. Many of those individuals are among the estimated 2,200 people homeless in the county each night. These stark numbers highlight the urgent need for programs that help individuals get jobs and become self-sufficient. Band Together NC hopes to raise $150,000 for StepUP through sponsorships, a raffle, silent auction and May 22 concert outside downtown Raleigh’s Lincoln Theater headlined by Michael Franti & Spearhead, with One Eskimo and local favorites such as The Old Ceremony as supporting acts.
