2018 MAIN EVENT VOLUNTEER SIGN UP

It’s that time of year! 2018 Main Event volunteer sign up is officially open… and that means the Main Event is just around the corner. Our Main Event would not be possible without all of our hardworking volunteers who make it happen each year – thank you in advance to everyone for your commitment!

Main Event Details:

What: 2018 Band Together Main Event with Walk the Moon

Where: Red Hat Amphitheater

When: Saturday, June 23, 2018

Why: We’re raising funds and awareness for Triangle Family Services, our 2018 Nonprofit Partner. This year, through community support and corporate and individual donations, our goal is to raise $1 million. Proceeds raised during this 2018 partnership year will be used to provide access to mental health services for up to 600 individuals in our community.

Sign Up to Become a 2018 Main Event Volunteer

Volunteer Job Descriptions:

Logistics Set-Up (Friday shifts)

Volunteers will assist the logistics team and help coordinate the incoming rentals (tents, tables, etc) the day before the event. Set up may include but is not limited to creating the event perimeter, moving and setting up tables and chairs. Duties may also include setting up signage, lights, stuffing programs and lanyards. You should be able to carry 30 lbs and wear comfortable shoes and clothing for this shift.

VIP: Artist Village

Volunteers in the Artist Village will assist our multiple artists on site whom will be creating live works of art for our attendees and auctioning off the final masterpieces. Duties will include assisting artists in setting up their workspace and making sure they have everything they need. Volunteers will also assist bidders in answering any questions and making sure they understand how to bid on the artwork.

VIP: Bar Set Up

The majority of this volunteer opportunity will be prior to of the event, starting at 3pm. Volunteers in this area will assist the food and beverage team with stocking the bars with ice, paper products and alcohol. Volunteers should be comfortable carrying large bags of ice as well as cases of beer and wine.

VIP: Bar Support

Volunteers will assist the food and beverage team with re- stocking the bars with ice, paper products and alcohol. Volunteers will not be serving alcohol. Volunteers should be comfortable carrying large bags of ice as well as cases of beer and wine. Additional duties include timely bussing of tables in the VIP area of empty glasses and food plates.

VIP: Food Service

Volunteers will assist the food and beverage team with assisting the chefs and restaurants with their food stations. This may include running food from holding areas to the vendors as well as restocking paper products.  Volunteers will not be serving food. Volunteers should be comfortable carrying large trays of food. Additional duties include timely bussing of tables in the VIP area of empty glasses and food plates.

VIP: Fun and Games

Volunteers will assist Fund and Games team by floating throughout the Fun and Games area answering any questions people may have, staffing the corn hole and other games not operated by vendors.

VIP: Silent Auction

Volunteers will assist the Silent Auction Committee will work in the VIP area by helping to set up the silent auction displays in a user friendly way, answer questions regarding the auction and how to bid as well as deliver auction items to the winners at the event and close out the credit cards.

General Admission: Silent Auction

Volunteers will assist the Silent Auction Committee in the general admission area by helping to promote the silent auction in the general admission area. This includes showing attendees how to sign up to bid, answering questions on items as well as deliver auction items to the winners at the event and close out the credit cards.

VIP: Logistics and VIP Ticketing

Volunteers in this area will assist the Logistics team by manning the VIP entrance. We are looking for fun and friendly faces as these volunteers will be the first people our guests see!  At the VIP entrance you may be responsible for checking IDs, selling tickets, provide programs and other welcome items.

VIP: Volunteers Support

Volunteers in this area will assist the Volunteers team by helping check in volunteers, work with committee chairs to make sure all volunteer needs are met, reallocate volunteers as needed and assist volunteers with check out. We LOVE our volunteers and couldn’t do it without them so we need fun and friendly faces to greet them and continually thank them for all of their hard work!!

General Admission Support

Volunteers in this area will assist the newly formed General Admission team by working the General Admission entrances. Draw in attendees to learn more about Band Together, our partner Triangle Family Services and all the fun stuff we have going on in General Admission area. Looking for outgoing and energetic people for this role and what a view of the show!

Back Up Volunteer

We know…things happen!  Although we are confident we will fill our volunteer needs early, we know that things will come up and some of our scheduled volunteers may not be able to make it for their shift. By signing up for this shift you are committing to be available the night of the event to serve wherever the need may be. We will contact anyone who signed up as a backup volunteer the week of the event to let them know if there are any opportunities available.
