Band Together Celebrates 25 Years & $15+ Million Raised for Local Nonprofits
[Raleigh, NC] — 2026 marks a major milestone for one of the Southeast’s biggest philanthropic traditions. Band Together, who hosts the largest annual benefit concert in the Southeastern United States, is celebrating its 25th anniversary after raising more than $15 million for local and national nonprofit organizations.
What started 25 years ago as a passionate effort to harness the power of live music and put it to work for the good of the community has grown into a regional powerhouse of generosity. Over 25 years, Band Together has supported over 150 nonprofit partners, funding programs that provide critical services, strengthen families, and improve communities across North Carolina and beyond.
Since its founding in 2001, Band Together has evolved from a first concert, honoring and supporting the firefighters who responded to the September 11th attack on the World Trade Center, into the Southeast’s largest annual benefit concert, drawing thousands of attendees annually and featuring nationally recognized artists. Band Together and their Mighty Giveback concert are cornerstones of the Southeast’s cultural and philanthropic calendar.
Beyond the $15 million raised, Band Together has generated huge community impact — supporting over 150 nonprofits, creating thousands of volunteer opportunities, and contributing to the regional economy through tourism, hospitality, and small business engagement.
This year’s 25th anniversary celebration promises to be the biggest, baddest – should we say ‘goodest’ – yet, honoring the event’s legacy while looking ahead to the next 25 years of growth and giving.
Concertgoers can expect multiple concerts, national acts and impressive tours, special anniversary moments, and stories highlighting the nonprofits and individuals whose lives have been transformed by Band Together’s mission.
“Band Together was born from a moment when our country and our community needed hope,” said Executive Director Thorne Daubenspeck. “Twenty-five years later, it’s become a movement built on music, generosity, and people coming together to make real change. We’re incredibly proud of the impact so far but we’re even more excited about what the next 25 years can bring.”
Band Together’s 25th Anniversary Mighty Giveback concert will take place in October at The Lincoln Theatre. Tickets will be available in May.
